Participations in other exhibitions
In 2012 the work from the Collection ‘The Passion of Christ – Pietà with angels’ took part in the exhibition Domenikos Theotokopoulos: From Candia to Toledo. The footsteps of a European Journey, in the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia, on the occasion of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In 2014 eight Post-Byzantine icons from the Velimezis Collection, together with works from other cultural agencies of Greece, were exhibited in the Zappeion Megaron in Athens, seat of the Greek Presidency of the European Union.
In 2014 the exhibition entitled Anthivola out of the undimming light. Drawings for icons and churches from Choniades to Hydra was organized in Hydra, in the General State Archives / Historical Archive – Museum of Hydra, comprising representative works and anthivola from the Velimezis- Makris – Margaritis Collections.
In 2015-2016, the work from the Collection ‘The Passion of Christ – Pietà with angels’ was invited to Treviso in Italy (Casa dei Carraresi), to participate in the exhibition El Greco in Italia. Metamorfosi di un genio.
In 2016-2017, on the occasion of the year dedicated to ‘Greece-Russia 2016-2017’, the exhibition Шедевры Византии – Βyzantine Masterpieces was held in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, with eighteen religious works from the Byzantine and Christian Museum of Athens, the Benaki Museum and the Velimezis Collection. This exhibition was the first action of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation after the donation of the Velimezis Collection to it, in the framework of the activities which the Foundation has developed since, in relation to the Velimezis Collection.
