In September 1997, in the Athens Concert Hall, icons of the Velimezis Collection, among them the icon ‘The Passion of Christ’, welcomed to Athens for
the first time the quite recently ‘discovered’ work by Domenikos Theotokopoulos ‘The Dormition of the Virgin Mary’ from the church of the Psarians
in Hermoupolis on Syros.
